Butterick 4320

We have a Hollywood theme night at Brownies coming up, and (not so) surprisingly my eight year old didn’t have a ball gown and neither did her friend.  A trip to The Shuttle in Saltaire where I picked up 6 metres of shiny black heavy unknown fabric for £2.50 total, some freebie binding from Simona (Sewing Adventures) and a couple of zips from a local scrap craft shop put this problem right.

This pattern uses SO MUCH FABRIC due to the massive skirts. I didn’t bother lining or adding sleeves / bows. The skirts are really long for the ages so ended up taking up quite a lot, and my machine simply wouldn’t fit through the collar pleats so gave up for the second one.  Two dresses of different sizes took about a day to make start to finish.
