Simply Sewing Palazzo Pants

Now I have made a pair it makes me wonder why I waited so long. I didn’t trace the full trouser leg, just measured for my leg length. Made a big bum adjustment and they fit perfectly. Once toile completed they took about 2 hours to make.

New Look 6035

I shortened the sleeves by 5 to fit my arms, but when my daughter tried it on it was about 6cm too short for her! Luckily she always wears things rolled up at the sleeve anyway

Cotton and Chalk Jenna Jumpsuit

Slightly confused by the 3-4cm gap in between the sizes.  Ended up grading from XS at the shoulders to just below medium at the waist.  Unusually I took away 2cm from the waist length (mostly I add that amount on, but the waist was way off where I was expecting it to be).  Added 5cm…

Simplicity 2588 Project Runway

I hate photos with my hands on my hips.  I don’t know why I did it. This is the slim skirt version of the narrow neck band.  I tried with the wide neck band and turning it inside out looked horrible, so I won’t be trying that again in the near future.  The aim of…

True Bias – Ogden Cami

Pattern beautifully supplied by Simona at Sewing Adventures in the Attick, already traced and in my size.  She has been praising this pattern for ages, and I thought it was about time that I finally made it. When I tried it on with a different bra it looked better at the back (I did take…

2020 Make List

The Shannon Trousers I have tried these before and loved them. I would like a pair of trousers and a pair of shorts from the same pattern.           Waffle Patterns                   Maudella 5960                  …

Simplicity 8055 Coat

The coat on the packet was the style I was aiming for, but the toile I ended up with using the packet measurements were NOTHING like the picture.  The toilet was nearly at my ankles, whereas the packet clearly shows a short coat.  I also had to take it in drastically, it was quite box-like…

Simplicity 1365

It happens. You see a pattern which you think you love, but when you make it you hate it.  Halter necks I can do, and the fabric I love.  But I hate this.   The cup size is massive – I could have taken loads of fabric out.  Not only was the cup size big, but the…

Cali Faye Valley Blouse

Very quick and easy to put together, but because of this I didn’t spend time doing any of my usual adjustments.  Its comfortable and wearable, but not perfect, and I could have made it perfect. For the next make – my shoulders sit forward, I need to move the shoulder seams forward by 2cm, and…

Sew So Easy Lace Undies

The whole process of making these knickers, from starting to trace, took less than an hour, and I’ve already worn them and love them. They would have been even quicker if the picture instructions made a little more sense, but I unpicked and went with my gut instinct and they came together quickly. I’m a…

Easy Peasy Baby Pants

Downloaded this pattern free on Craftsy by Climbing The Willow, but the webpage accompanying the pattern doesn’t seem to work. Doesn’t matter, since it’s pretty easy to figure out. I tried two different waist bands, the lower one was quicker, but I think I prefer the upper one.

Kimono, Love Sewing Magazine

Kimono pattern from Love Sewing Magazine, lovingly stolen from Simona at Sewing Adventures In The Attick First Make 2014: The material was from Abakhan Bolton; they have boxes of pre-cut fabrics sold by weight and this piece was from the mixed voiles box. No other fittings were needing. The pattern is from Love Sewing magazine, issue…
